Can I be hired at a different location after quitting another?

I went to my interview a couple hours ago, the manager I talked to was actually a manager I worked with at my old store that transferred to that location I applied to! We were both pleasantly surprised to see each other, we’ve always been cool, he’s a really nice chill guy. He knows I have all the skills to work there and he said he would love to give me a job. However, he has to run it past their gm first. He said he would put in a good word for me tho!!!! He also said that their gm is most definitely going to give a call to my old gm and that they’re very good friends… so it’s all in the hands of them at this point and what they say. I’m really nervous. He said he would text me later today and tell me what the verdict is. I’ll update further!

I don’t know about chili’s specifically, but many restaurants (especially chains) allow managers to mark you in the system as something like a “no rehire” if you did certain things, such as quitting without 2 weeks notice. A different manager at another location can almost certainly override this, the question is whether or not they want to do that for you specifically. All you can do is be honest.

Uh oh… i did quit without a 2 weeks notice 😭 so im not sure how this is gonna play out. I didn’t know they could mark you in the system like that. Good to know!! I really need a job at the moment, so i’m just gonna at least TRY since you miss 100% of the shots you don’t bother taking
