I’d love to know if you’re part of an indoor or outdoor process and how you store and ship! I’ve seen a lot shipped in narrow glass bottles, I can see how that may be easier to access but do wonder the amount of fish that don’t survive this process. Do you find people care enough about the animals wellbeing? Or is that often forgotten? (For context I rehabilitate rehomed betta fish because I am skeptical of business practices)

Personally, I focus on giving my bettas the best care possible. That’s why I invested so much time and R&D into building a large betta barracks for them. For me, this is a hobby first and a business second, so my setup is designed for long-term care and comfort rather than just efficiency.

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer, I learned a lot from that! I really appreciate it. That does help me understand the bottles better and honestly makes more sense. I also admire putting the hobby first, even at fish stores you can tell when it’s a labor of love. If I can ask just one more question, I have noticed betta fish aren’t living as long as they once did. I wondered if you’ve found this as well or have any idea what could be causing this? I think it’s under researched breeding, or maybe breeding for aggressions over time would add stress? These are just my thoughts, I’d love to know what you think! I have seen a good variety of quality betta, and so far the ones most prone to disease are the ones with the least thought out into their breeding. But the one I purchased from a breeder I like is very healthy, and surprisingly smart. He learns tricks easily, and always swims up to say hello. Thanks for working hard to give these little guys a good shot at life! I have noticed its affect on their health.
