Failed VT vehicle inspection?
UPDATE, 1/30: Thank you all for your thoughtful responses! This is a hot topic!
The story I'm writing will be pretty short - and since it's national, it'll only partially touch on inspections in Vermont. But clearly there's a lot more here worth exploring than what I can tackle in this 4 minute radio piece. If this is an issue you think should be covered more, I'd suggest reaching out to one of our many great local news outlets. Perhaps it's a question for Brave Little State? https://www.vermontpublic.org/podcast/brave-little-state#ask
One last thing - I'm always looking to talk to people about their financial lives and how the broader economy impacts them. I'm especially interested in transportation issues - transit, cars, etc - and the roles they play in the economy.
If you're interested in potentially sharing your thoughts and experiences for future Marketplace stories, I welcome you to fill out this form:

ORIGINAL POST:
Hey folks,
Henry Epp here again, looking to talk to folks for a story on the public radio show Marketplace. (For background – I used to work at Vermont Public, now I’m at Marketplace but I still live in VT).
You guys have come through for me a few times before (thank you!), so I wanted to reach out again for the next story I’m working on.
The piece is about vehicle safety inspection programs. Texas just ended their inspection requirement, and overall the rules really vary state by state.
As you probably know, Vermont’s inspections are still pretty rigorous. So, I’m hoping to talk to a few folks who’ve failed inspection to hear what that process was like. Or, perhaps you’ve had a really positive inspection experience that you’d want to share.
Because this is a radio story, I’m hoping to record audio interviews with anyone who’s willing, and we’ll likely include a few clips in this story.
If you’re up for talking about this, DM me here – or email me at hepp [at] marketplace [dot] org.
Thanks!
