People don't like electric cars because they look like electric cars. After driving an electric Vauxhall corsa for 6 months I quite like it and it looks just like a normal corsa.

Manufacturers are pushing futuristic electric cars that look hideous, strange shaped steering wheels and plain looking interiors that look like empty apartments and doing away with real buttons in aid of cheap touch sensitive buttons. Full length lights front and back too.

I get cheap electric at night so it costs £6 to travel upto 150 miles. No blocked dpf's or egr valves, almost no servicing costs.

Luckily I bought it very cheap but I can't see many down sides apart from it being a vauxhall. It's really boring to drive but I'm not easily entertained by petrol cars these days either.
