Buying a used Townsend Sphere

I have a few questions about buying a used microphone. I recently bought the Slate ML-1 microphone because I couldn’t afford the brand-new UA Sphere microphone (that I wanted to go with my new Apollo Gen 2). I found an affordable offer online for the Townsend L22, and the seller is willing to trade, but not the Slate microphone.

I’m wondering if there are any things to look out for when buying a used microphone, especially regarding its condition and current software support.

The seller claims it’s the original version, so I assume it’s an earlier production model. Are there significant differences between the current models and the originals that I should be aware of? Any insights would be great. Thanks!
