I hate anti-science tropes like "gunpowder stopped exploding"

Like, how does that work? Gunpowder uses natural minerals that burn and explode in nature. If gunpowder stopped working then something fundamentally changed in the minerals themselves, and this should lead to a domino effect that will affect every living thing.

For that matter why is science considered the opposite of magic? Science is merely a method of investigation, studying magic should also be classified as a "science".

The opposite of Magic should be Physics.

The opposite of Alchemy should be Chemistry.

The opposite of Technology should be Artifacts.

And the opposite of Science should be Superstition.
