Now that the Olympics has finished and you've had some time to reflect, who was your stand out performer(s)?

For me, my stand out performer and favourite moment from the Paris 2024 games was Alex Yee who won the gold medal in the men's triathlon for GB.

Coming off the swimming part of the race, Yee was 27 seconds off the leader coming onto the cycling leg. He managed to make up the time difference and came into the final part of the race (10k run), in the lead.

At this point, Yee looked quite comfortable and even created a small gap between himself and the chasing pack. However, Hayden Wilde of NZ had other ideas and quickly caught up to Yee, overtaking him.

At around 5K, Wilde had opened up a gap of around15-18 seconds. Yee by his own admission was going through a "rough patch" at this stage and with the French runners Leo Bergère and Pierre Le Corre quickly closing on him from behind, he had everyone wondering if he might actually be in a scrap for the bronze/silver medals! I for one had written him off.

Fast forward to the final 2K of the race, the broadcasters are perhaps understandably focusing their attention on the two home athletes battling it out for bronze and maybe even a silver - meanwhile, seemingly out of nowhere, Yee has found another gear and has closed the 15 second gap to Wilde!

The camera pans back to Yee and approaching the last 400m, Yee breezes past Wilde who seems to have hit a wall. Yee continues his sprint towards the line and comes home to take the gold! A truly incredible and inspiring finish (slightly marred by the dodgy broadcasting missing most of his sprint before he caught Wilde, unfortunately).

So, who was your stand out performer or performers from the games?
