Why is The Notebook still viewed as one of the best romances in movie history? I have issues with it.
I wanted to see this movie for the longest time while being ignorant as to how well-loved it was. Four years ago, I finally watched it and was immediately turned off when Allie cheated on Lon. He wasn't a bad guy at all. In the years since, I hear men and women always talk about how romantic it is and that it is such a great love story. This surprises me. I'm sure that no one would want to be cheated on. The only way I can see people being stirred emotionally is because older Noah read her the story and she is obviously battling dementia. Still, that doesn't undo the wrong done by her.
