1940s-1960s Collared Shirts were different and better than today’s
Watching films from the 40s-60s, I’ve noticed that the men tend to wear shirts with a far pointier / floppier collar than we see nowadays. Along with this, the shirts seem to be a softer material with a baggier fit.
In my opinion, these look a lot better than the office shirts I wear; now I’m not quite as handsome as Cary Grant / Clark Gable but I wonder whether the style should make a comeback? I’ve never once seen these kinds of shirt for sale in London but my instinct is that I’d look rather nice in them.
What is the style called, where can we get it, and why don’t we wear it?
