Genuine Vs. Fake Leather (Shoes)

Hello, everybody

I've been looking for a pair of some white sneakers to wear casually/when going out with my girlfriend. I've looked everywhere and just when I was about to buy the most beautiful pair I could find, I searched a little more and found out about this material discrepancy between the various types of sneakers sold.

I almost bought the Asics Japan S but found out that they are made of synthetic leather. I didn't know it was that a big of a deal before researching, but apparently the legit ones are more durable and resistant to time and climate harms, besides the fact that they have less "fold memory", as they leave less usage marks between the folding areas.

Then I became attracted to the Adidas' Stan Smiths with an affordable price, just to find out later that the legit leather one is the "Lux" version, much more pricy. And the same thing happens everytime I find a good pair of white sneakers.

I noticed that the info on the material the shoes are made of is not always that clear. It seems like the stores are really trying to hide the fact that some of their products are not made of real leather.

The thing is: is the difference between Synthetic and Genuine leather really a dealbraker for you guys? I'd like to know if any of you has had the experience of owning a pair of each one and could verify if my concern is legit. Furthermore, I'd love to have some more recommendations of some white sneakers similar to the ones I've mentioned and more affordable. By the way, I also love the Adidas All Star and Reebok Club C.

Thanks in advance!
