Looking for a Balance Recommendation
Hey y’all! I have nothing to do with lab work but I just love nerds of all flavors and this sub is filled with such amazingly creative people and I have never been disappointed with my follow. So first off thanks for the interesting content!!
I’m a piano technician and we do a lot of interesting work regarding the “touchweight” of the piano. This involves weighing off the individual keys as well as some of the other parts.
I need a scale with a resolution of 0.1g. I have tried a couple different precision scales. I started with the Mars MS600 which is 600g cap. 0.1g resolution scale. Next I tried a cheap but not cheap balance from Fristaden labs.
I just need a scale that is consistent and measured the same way twice, and I only need .1g resolution. Both of these scales I’ve tried show variances of up to .5G depending on how CLOSE YOU STAND NEXT TO THE FUCKING THING.
It doesn’t need to be perfect, just consistent. The actual weight doesn’t matter as much as repeatability, since all my decisions require a complete mock up before we make a commitment to a specific weight curve.
I feel like I’m going mad. Please help.
