iCloud account exclusively for iPad -- bad idea for ecosystem?

I want to use my iPad almost exclusively for school. I do not want to sync up my iPhone images, messages, regular email, etc. Would it be better for me to create a new iCloud account for this purpose, or would that ruin my Apple ecosystem?
