Questions regarding Honda Rebel

So I’ve been looking at alternatives to a grom bike due to everyone telling me not to get one. And a reoccurring bike is the Honda rebel 500. And I’ve never driven any type of motorcycle before but as of now it’s my only option due to space and parking regarding my living situation. So I ask would this motorcycle be worth getting me from point A to point B within a 20 mile radius. Since I would only be using it to go to school and work. Not to sure if this would help but I weigh about 170 and am 5’7 ik some bikes have a max limit. I’m sorry if anything in this post is off I’m new to the motorcycle community.
