BFG900 CC weapon bug??

Does the BFG have a charge up effect if so why doesn’t mine work? I recently watched a YT video and that guy had a charge up effect on his and tbch I never knew it had an effect until that video. Why doesn’t mine have one is my game broken or was he using a mod to add an effect?? Ps5 btw. Ik I forgot a 0 in the name
