The actual distribution of accepted offers for all specialty training posts.
There has been some numbers floating around on twitter tonight regarding how many posts are actually accepted by IMGs and LMGs. Interestingly enough, in my opinion, certain specialties were 'cherry picked' to push a narrative that is false and disingenuous. As such, I thought I would share the full data accounting for all specialty training posts.
The NHS provides data on the offers accepted each year from 2021 onwards (2024 data not yet available).
The data is as follows:
In 2021, of all specialty training post offers accepted, the distribution was IMG (35%), LMG (65%).
In 2023, of all specialty training post offers accepted, the distribution was IMG (41%), LMG (59%).
