Booking our first trip to hawaii with my wife and looking for recommendations on which islands/hotels to stay.

Had my mind set on 1 Hotel Hanalei Bay in Kauai which still may be a winner but I'm hearing the weather isn't great on the north side of the island in January.

We're looking for the best views, good food and an overall laid back environment. Thoughts?
