The new GORE-TEX ePE membrane?

Hi y'all,

I'm a newcomer to the Arc club. I've been seeing posts about "wet out" condition of Gore-Tex shells lately on this sub due to the new ePE material.

Curious, I went to my closet and checked out my Beta Pro shell (Beta AR) made in 2024, Beta LT made in 2023, and Rush bibs made in 2022, all were made with ePTFE. Based on what I've seen here and my current experiences, I think I will prefer this old material over the new formula.

However, when I checked my partner's garments - a Fissile Down jacket and Sabre Pants, both made in 07/24 - the tag reads both ePE & PU 😳. Can someone please clarify if this reading means these are made from the new, more eco-friendly material that's been the current topic of conversation? TIA!
