What happened to everyone hyping this game up as the goat? (We deserve better)

I've been seeing a lot more negativity (justified) about this game on YouTube, Twitter and this very subreddit. But it wasn't supposed to be like this. This game was hyped up as being the greatest game of all time and anyone that disagreed was just "being a hater." It's time that we as consumers STOP ACCEPTING MEDIOCRITY FROM THIS COMPANY. I have played EVERY game from as early as Smackdown! for PS1 to the most recent 2k titles and I am immensely passionate about this franchise and wrestling as a whole, but this game in its current state is embarrassing.

-Universe mode is a broken boring mess that gets broken with every new patch. I have seen a recent uptick in posts expressing frustration with the lack of attention It's received.

-Showcase mode is an absolute chore. NOBODY, NOBODY liked this mode this year.

-MyFaction mode: this mode has been met with mostly negative reviews from everyone and its obvious that it lacks appeal. Outside of unlocking personas, this mode just doesn't appeal to me. The idea of a pay to win gacha collector just isn't going to cut it. I don't see the point in investing real money in a game that sees a yearly release. Your progress and money means nothing when it's time to start over again next year with your new collection.

-MyGM is hit or miss for some, the biggest complaint I have is that my power cards didn't transfer between seasons. 🙃

-MyRise, personally not for me. I would much rather prefer a non linear season mode similar to Smackdown HCTP

-The glitches, bugs and terrible coding makes gameplay feel like a slog to get through. My game feels like its underwater after the newest patch and the AI still does things that need to be fixed. Turnbuckle pad removal, overusing the carry system, and slow counting just to name a few.

-That HORRENDOUS AWFUL TERRIBLE boxing stance needs to go. It looks very robotic and unnatural on the models. The combo system for me is largely unnecessary as I just stick to grapples.

-My point is that we do this every year. We hype up the game to unreal expectations even though the red flags are there, such as: entrances being largely unchanged, fading to black between entrances (this is literally ps2 era tech!), and outdated members of the roster not receiving the proper treatment (looking at you outdated Riptide!)

-It's not fair for criticism of the game to be automatically invalidated when this is something that we all pay money for. When this YEARLY title asks you to pay $70-120 for it every year, we as the consumer deserve better. If you enjoy the game, that is perfectly fine! I would never want to discredit someone else's fun, but this is a safe space for criticism.

When I saw this game initially, it had ZERO indication of being the GOAT.
