Save data transfer help

I recently bought a my own switch after using my old roommates for the past year.

On my roommates switch I had my own account and purchased breath of the wild and had a bunch of save data on my account, but when I downloaded BOTW on my switch, none of the save data transferred.

He’s living in another country at the moment, so there’s no way for our switches to be nearby for a Wi-Fi data transfer.

Is it possible for him to send my save data over the cloud to my new switch? Any feedback/help is appreciated!!
