What to do...?

So ive been working at this company for about 2 years i started off at 20$/hr i was a painter getting 28$/hr. Within my first year i was bumped up to 25$/hr but i was always on top of my game listening, helping out extra keep stuff clean (work trucks, equipment, office) I was being trained by a guy who went to college for this field but had like 1-2 years field experience so like me, he was also learning alot. But long story short didnt get his contract renewed. Point is i know im really new at this but recently we hired this new guy back in the spring well turns out this guy was also a painter but hes a father with a mortgage and well we all know how that goes expense here expense there, so the company needed a guy desperately but this guy has zero experience zero knowledge and few weeks ago i found out hes making 26$/hr on top of that i was the one showing him the ropes as much as i could and im still at $25/hr should i speak up? i mean i kinda get the new guys situation its a huge loss for him cause he was making +40$/hr and switching to this company for 20$/hr its not possible in todays world but still i feel like i should say something. I pretty much trained him he knows how to use all the equipment because of me. should i say something? ask for a raise?
