Kaplan University Loan Forgiveness? Did I miss something?
This is probably an old topic, but I recently saw a change in my credit score and was confused as to why since I had Kaplan U loans from 2013. I checked it and suddenly, for the past year, everything was brought to current. Has something happened that I just haven't noticed? It was in forbearance for years because I just never had any money to pay it. (Living paycheck to paycheck working retail because no one took my IT degree seriously, if I had to guess)
My friend just told me about sweets v. cardona, so I decided to take a look into it. But I can't find any number to call to check. When I looked up the Borrower Defense Updates, it lists Kaplan as one of the schools, saying that the loans would be forgiven. But, the accounts are still showing on my credit report.
I'm not sure who to call or how to go about finding any clear information as I've not been in college for over a decade and lost all of the login information. I guess I'm rambling, but I'm confused and could really use some info if anyone has any. A number to call, a website to check...something. I feel very lost. Any information would be a boon to my family. Thanks and sorry for the dumb inquiry.
Edit to add: The loans are from Federal Family Education Loans (FFEL).
