Marcus Aurelius and Irving's love of art

Outtie Irving inspired me to pick up Marcus Aurelius ' Meditations again, which I started reading a couple years ago but put down. It just happened that I opened up to a section where he talks about art. And the point of the passage is that no matter how miserable a person's condition and no matter how terrible the thing they are beholding is, there is actually beauty for the artistic eye to appreciate and take solace in. TLDR, even if your trapped in the matrix, the sunsets are still beautiful.

And isn't that true of innie Irving (before his world falls apart and he kinda starts to fall apart)? His eye for the Kier art and the little things Optics and Design do -- this fits a stoic approach to the human condition and the need to find (but also, secret ubiquity of) beauty.
