Amanda and Nick?? What did people think?

I just finished season 16 and am starting on season 17. PLEASE tell me I wasn’t the only one shipping Rollins with Amaro? I was rooting for them since almost the beginning, and I sensed that Nick deeply cared about her from the earlier seasons. Idk if the writers intended there to be chemistry from the start or not, but I definitely noticed it very early on. I have no idea what the general public’s opinion is about those two, but I loved them.

It just pissed me off that the writers actually started to have them ‘date’ or hookup with eachother- but we never saw anything of it?? And the minute they showed us that they were hooking up — suddenly they were in way less scenes, way less conversations and much else. It annoyed the hell out of me, especially as someone who has been watching them for several seasons. I never understood what their relationship was after that. I thought that the writers would explain it but then Nick leaves??? (which I lowkey saw from a mile away) I just think it was hella weird to build up so much tension and character development with these two, and many story arch’s just to give us nothing? Was there a reason for this?? idk I’m just pissed rn. I loved them together. Did they plan for them to get together but the actor for Nick wanted to leave so they had to ditch the plot?? like just none of this makes sense to me.

I also watched a few other episodes into season 17… Amanda gets pregnant and tells everyone it’s not nicks, why would they think it’s nicks from the get go? They didn’t tell anyone about their relationship (if I can even call it that), and definitely not Olivia?? We never saw them be cozy or anything in public? — and now it’s Declan’s baby? HUH? I had to take a small break from the show cause that plot line was just… yeah what the hell happened
