How Should Biden respond to the Debt Ceiling Crisis?

Yellen announced that the US will run out of cash by June 1st. House Republicans are refusing Biden's request to do a a clean debt ceiling bill and they recently passed a funding bill that defunds many of Biden's initiatives.

Given the slim GOP majority in the House, Kevin McCarthy doesn't have much room for negotiation with Senate Democrats and Joe Biden in raising the debt ceiling. But the closer we reach the deadline, the likelier we will see financial markets crash with the fear of the US unable to pay its debts. Last time this standoff happened, credit agencies downgraded US credit for the first time in its history.

Given the serious repercussions of not raising the debt ceiling, and Kevin McCarthy's tedious majority in the House, what should Joe Biden do to ensure the debt ceiling is raised before the June 1 deadline?
