Rhinoplasty - Gummy Smile 1 Year Post Op
I’ve been searching online but haven’t found much information, so I wanted to ask here in case anyone has had a similar experience or can offer some advice.
I had a revision rhinoplasty a little over a year ago, and ever since then, I’ve noticed my smile has become gummy. Before the surgery, my gums never showed when I smiled, but now when I laugh or smile naturally, my upper lip tends to roll under, exposing my gums. If take a selfie and put on a fake smile it looks normal, but it’s become something I’m very aware of as I am mentally always trying to remember not to roll it up as when I am laughing or genuinely smiling it happens.
I’m just wondering will this ever go back to normal on its own? Does anyone know why this might be happening? Is a lip flip my only option for fixing it?
For context, this was my second time getting an open rhinoplasty. Any insights would be really helpful!!
