PSA: lifting weights helps increase bone density
high bone density is increasingly important as we age. “doing the hard thing now makes life easier later”
I met with my primary doctor today for my annual and she made a comment about bone density. i asked what lifestyle things i can do to reduce risks, and she suggested weight lifting. it made me really excited to share with her that i have been back at the gym since summer. and i wanted to share this message with you. especially those who are scared to lift - it will be SO helpful for you later in life.
you can also get your bone density scanned in case you are very concerned. obviously the costs & access will vary depending on where you are in the world but she said it would be $100 USD for me to get it scanned at facility if i was interested.
