Game opening issues

For some reason ever since the Worlds Part 2 update came out a few days ago I haven't been able to start the game properly, I'll open it in steam, have the icon show up at the bottom of my screen, then it closes itself. Even after the small patch update this morning it didn't work. Although for some reason just now I opened it in vr mode (even though I don't have a vr headset) and now it opens fine using that method, but trying to open it in non vr mode just doesn't work
