In this chinese movie 欢乐喜剧人 (Top Comedian), why do they treat Mr bean as a famous celebrity when he is just a regular man in his universe?

I already know that Mr bean is popular, but it confuses me on why he is "famous" in this scene where a whole crowd runs over to him shouting his name in Chinese "憨豆". The only reason I can think of is that maybe the playback time movie with Mr bean in it from Mr beans holiday became extremely popular worldwide and that's what caused him to become extremely popular as well as being recognized by many people in this scene? Maybe I'm just over thinking... What do you think?
