Help on Spousal sponsorship

Need help!

My agent told me that once I receive my eCOPR then he can submit spouse sponsorship and TRV with dual intent to be able to enter Canada with my spouse rather than waiting for the sponsorship to complete(6-7 months) and then reunite. It goes without saying that I want to ignore the situations where we are living in 2 different countries :(

Help I need is, how true and reliable is this approach? Are there other alternatives to ignore the long distance?
