New PR card if staying abroad (for now)
Hey! So, my PR card expired while living abroad, and I'd like to renew it because we frequently travel to Canada. The last few times I flew into the US and drove up, but I'm not eager to set foot in Trumpland. and a valid PR card would be best in any case.
Can I get a new card even if not staying in Canada? The govt websites say to apply for a new PR card "if you're taking up residence in Canada again" which I'm not.
The reason I'm eligible is because I'm "accompanying" my Canadian spouse abroad.
Also, I understand that I can't apply for both, PR card and PRTD at the same time, and that I can only apply for a PR card from Canada (even though the application is all online). Anyone know what the part is that I have to be in Canada for? I'll be in Canada for a few weeks soon, can I have the card sent to a Canadian address after I leave?
