Hiatal hernia has come back after surgery to fix it.

So I had a fundoplication in 10/22. I noticed my acid reflux was returning; not as bad, but enough that I wanted to get checked again. Went for an endoscopy yesterday (I moved, so this is with a new dr), and my hiatal hernia is back. 4cm again. Apparently "it" unraveled? I don't know what "it" refers to (maybe the mesh that was put in?)... I was still loopy /asleep from the anesthesia and, God love my elderly dad, he didn't ask many pressing questions and now he's upset with himself. I have a follow up appt in March (they schedule SO far out down here), but I'm just wondering if anyone else has also experienced this.

I am aware they can return, but I didn't realize it would be so soon. Nexium is controlling the reflux for now so I don't want to go down the surgery route again (yet).
