Am I safe here as a queer person?
I'm a queer (non-binary) person from O'ahu. Considering how the current administration seems to be going in the direction of making my existence and healthcare illegal, I'm wondering if Hawai'i will still be safe for me and my queer friends to live in.
Part of me thinks it'll be fine because our state government seems to care about queer rights, but I'm also scared that things could take a turn for the worst considering how more locals seem to be shifting right.
I'm wondering if it'll be worth it to stay here or if I should risk seeking asylum in another country.
