Want to move from a physical amp to an interface

First thing, I don’t want to record music. I just want to plug-in to my laptop and play. So what’s my options? I’m looking at the Focusrite Scarlett Solo for my interface, but what do I need to get software-wise? I’d like something where I can download “tones” for artists I like (I know about Neural DSP, pretty pricey though). I’m not a hardcore player and don’t write my own songs, so I’d like to fiddle with settings as little as possible to start, just because I don’t really understand what I’m doing.
