24h parking rule

Hey everyone,

I live near a residential area with a street where parking is allowed without any restrictions. There are a lot of cars parked in that particular street because I’m assuming, the people living in that street park there as well. Unfortunately, I’ve received a ticket because I didn’t move my car after 24h (should’ve read up on that before).

However, I’m unsure exactly how that rule is enforced. On all the web pages, it says I can’t "park" in the same spot for more than 24h. Does that mean that if I left in the morning and returned and the same spot would still be available, I couldn’t park there? According to my logic, I wouldn’t be parked for more than 24h because I’d have moved my vehicle and then returned, meaning I wouldn’t technically violate that rule since my car wasn’t parked there anymore but later returned so the parking-timeframe would restart?

I assume they either take a picture of the car/said spot or they check whether the wheels had been moved. So technically, if I just moved the car a couple of inches, could I avoid this restriction?
