NYC hotel recommendations for a couple in their early 70s?

Hi guys - my parents are talking about spending 3-4 nights in New York this spring. They haven’t been in ages but want to go visit while my cousin is living there (UWS). Not sure what else is on their agenda but my mom isn’t up for walking long distances so a hotel with car service would be nice.

The first one that came to mind is The Plaza - I think they’d enjoy the architecture and old New York charm. Their tastes run towards Midwest meat and potatoes so uber modern/sleek/trendy wouldn’t be their jam. They do enjoy a good breakfast too.

Is the Plaza a good choice? What other options should we look at? Aman?
