What's a Peak Base in HPLC?
If peaks have spectra, the Base is the largest point in the peak spectrum:
- For Mass Spec it's a Base Peak Mass (BPM) which represents the most abundant m/z in the peak
- And in case of UV it's λmax - the wavelength at which the analyte absorbs the most
What if we have a lot of compounds, and we wanted to get λmax of each peak? For that:
- Add a Peaks Table with columns Base, Chromatogram name, Injection
- Filter out unnecessary peaks (we need only one UV chromatogram)
- Done. You can turn it into visualization or export as a table
