[Canada] PSA: tariffs on importing USA tools
Just a PSA to my fellow Canucks buying cross-border starting Feb 4.
Effective Feb 4, tools _made in USA_ are included in 25% tariffs. Applies to hand and power tools (and a bunch of other things). Items imported from USA, but not made there, appear to be exempt. Batteries also seem to be exempt, but I don't think any current Dewalt batteries are made in USA.
"These tariffs only apply to goods originating from the U.S., which shall be considered as those goods eligible to be marked as a good of the U.S. in accordance with the Determination of Country of Origin for the Purposes of Marking Goods (CUSMA Countries) Regulations."
