Car colour coded paint

My car is 1989 and has had a full body respray at some point in its life, unfortunately not an OEM colour so I have no clue of the code.

I would like to repaint some of the panels myself using spray cans. Is it possible to have the colour of the car scanned to get the paint specs, and have the same shade paint put into a can for me to spray myself?
