How to improve TV audio for 200-300!

Hi everyone, from all the reading/testing I've done I know soundbars aren't great for the price. At the same time Im confused on what a good alternative would be. Is something like the BS5p likely the best in this range? My main use is for general tv watching / movies. No music. I also don't care for surround sound. Just would like to improve quality/clarity/dialog.
