Can the Beoplay EX buds be used independently of each other?

Hi all! I've owned a few pairs of the various models of Beoplay E8s over the years and one of the biggest annoyances I had was the inability to use the left earbud on its own like you can with AirPods/Samsung wireless earbuds. With the E8s, only the right earbud could be used on its own which was quite frustrating.

Has B&O fixed this on the EX? Their website lists the right bud as the primary earbud and left as secondary just like they did the E8, so I'm assuming the answer is no but I wanted to check just in case. They look fantastic but I don't want to buy them and be disappointed.
