Has anyone here gotten a hoover months, even years after the end?

My first ex hoovered me after 3 YEARS! I’ve seen in this subreddit some people have experienced hoovers even way long after that.

I’m worried it’s going to happen to me again (with my most recent ex w BPD), at a time when i’ve forgotten them completely and have healed. She had a habit of overstepping boundaries even when we were in communication and would always find a way back in. Even my friends said after this final discard that she would be back based on her past behaviour.

Shocked doesn’t even begin to describe how I felt the first time it happened with my first ex. But honestly idk if I can do a second hoover attempt. I just want to be left alone but these people always find a way to circle back!

Whats the longest you’ve gone before a hoover came through, and how did you all react to it? Where you healed and secure, did you ignore it completely, did it bring out unhealed emotions and feelings for you? Love to hear more hoover experiences
