President Trump got Mexico and Canada to step up on border enforcement—a win. But he did it by threatening tariffs, throwing markets into chaos for 72 hours. While the result was good, was the approach?
As conservatives, we value stability, free markets, and the rule of law. Strong leadership doesn’t mean creating artificial crises just to “solve” them. If we defend Trump’s chaotic tactics today, what stops future leaders—who may not share our values—from using the same playbook?
This isn’t about hating Trump—it’s about applying our principles consistently. If conservative governance is about discipline, strategy, and long-term vision, shouldn’t we demand the same from our leaders?
