Bought a cold air intake before reading the subreddit...

For starters, my current air box is broken so I was looking online and saw that a cold air intake would be roughly the same price as a stock intake. Here's what I bought.

Is having a cold air intake really that awful? Every post I read on this sub comes off as if a CAI would be the end of my vehicle and that I would be foolish to go that route. I'm at 268k miles and like many other owners, longevity is my top priority for this vehicle. Am I risking anything by switching over to CAI?

I haven't gotten it in the mail yet so there's still time to cancel and return the item.

Thoughts?
