'99 Taco time! Also, suspension talk
Hey y'all, look what i got last week! $6,000 for a 201k mile V6 Taco, it's an average price/condition for my area of Texas. Rust-free frame, fresh paint job, I just did coils, plugs and wires yesterday, plus an oil change and a $60 Dual stereo from Walmart to replace the old radio that wouldn't turn on at all, so she's purring away and blasting tunes again!
She needs a good bit of TLC, front suspension is thoroughly shot and the front and back has two different sizes of tires, all four are bald of course, so gonna grab some new rims and tires to throw on soon. Also needs a new wheel bearing on the front driver's side, so gonna take the knuckle to a shop and have them press out/in a new one for me.
Gonna overhaul the rest of the suspension myself, ball joints, tie rod ends, every single bushing, even the coilovers; EVERYTHING will be fresh. She currently bottoms out crawling over speed bumps, it's kinda sad to watch.
So, y'all got any advice or recommendations for the suspension? Certain brands to avoid or stick to like me clinging to my last shreds of sanity?
